Kathleen A MacIver

Solicitor,  LL.B, Dip.LP, NP.

Kathleen trained in Corporate Law, Commercial and Residential Conveyancing with a prestigious City firm before extending her practice areas to include Civil Litigation and Family Law.

With over 20 years’ experience as a qualified solicitor, Kathleen has appeared in many courts throughout Scotland, representing clients in a variety of contentious cases. She also advises on a wide range of non-contentious and property matters.

Prior to returning to Lewis, Kathleen was a partner in a busy Court Practice while serving as Legal Adviser to a Regional Domestic Abuse Forum and acting as a Sheriff Court Bar Reporter in Child Welfare Hearings. Kathleen also trained as a Collaborative Lawyer and is experienced in Alternative Dispute Resolution, where she has used her skills to mediate in complex financial aspects of divorce.

With such breadth of experience over several areas of law, Kathleen can be consulted on any aspect of Civil Litigation, Family law and Property matters including House Purchases and Sales, Property Letting and Crofting Law.

David S. Teale

Solicitor, BA, LL.B, Dip. Forensic Medicine, NP.

David has specialised in the practice of Criminal Law throughout his legal career, the majority of which was spent in Glasgow and the Greater Glasgow area, initially as a Criminal Defence Lawyer and latterly as Prosecutor in the public office of Procurator Fiscal.

David has a wealth of experience across all of the Scottish Criminal Courts, from presenting cases in the Sheriff Court to preparing cases for the High Court and reporting cases for the Court of Appeal. He has represented the Crown on many occasions before Fatal Accident Inquiries.

As well as being an experienced trials lawyer, David has been involved with the full spectrum of Criminal Cases from Complex Fraud to Road Traffic Offences and Murder and Homicide to Serious Organised Crime.

Bringing over 30 years’ professional experience to the role, David is available to advise and represent clients of the firm.
